Our Story: How Evry K9 Began

Evry K9 started with a mission rooted in compassion, led by founder Mark Cousins. Originally, Evry K9 was a program dedicated to rehabilitating pitbull-type dogs in local shelters. As a volunteer, Mark worked tirelessly to train and prepare these dogs for adoption, hoping to give them a second chance and spare them from euthanasia. He quickly saw that bully breeds were often overlooked due to unfair stigmas, which sparked a bigger purpose: creating Evry K9.

Mark’s goal was clear—raise awareness, rehabilitate, and train dogs labeled as “difficult,” ultimately placing them in loving forever homes. “Until you volunteer in a shelter,” Mark shares, “you never fully understand the struggles with overpopulation or the heartbreak of euthanasia.”

Mark’s dedication soon drew attention from shelter staff, adoptive families, and even the local newspaper. His work expanded, and he began helping families with aggressive or challenging dogs, sharing his methods in seminars and classes focused on K9 safety, training, and rehabilitation.

Today, Mark has trained countless service dogs for law enforcement, task dogs for families, and hundreds of family pets. His impact continues as he now mentors a new generation of dog trainers, creating a team dedicated to teaching positive behaviors and helping families build strong, healthy relationships with their dogs. Evry K9 is more than a name—it’s a movement to empower both dogs and their humans.
